A big piece of cardboard, some colors and a bit of imagination is all that you need for making your kids happy.

We were visiting some friends that just moved to a new place, so they had some big pieces of cardboard lying around. We've been playing with cardboard before so when we saw this big piece of cardboard, we just couldn't stay away :-)

Lukas '( 4 years) did the tracks and I helped with the road and the decorations (trees, houses...). In the end we got ourselves quite a nice looking landscape.

My little guy liked it so much that he did not wanted to leave his new "toy" behind. So when we left four friends we had to take the piece of cardboard with us. Thankfully our car is big enough to fit this and our friend were not too sorry for getting rid of their unwanted cardboard :-)

So Win -Win!

How to Make a Paper Christmas Tree

My first post here will be abut how to make a paper Christmas tree. It's a very simple Christmas craft for kids and lots of fun too..

paper Christmas tree

There are only few things you need to make 2 paper Christmas tree:
  • One A4 sheet of preferably colored paper
  • A toilet paper roll
  • Scissors
  • Some decorating materials like glitter, glue, stickers…. (optional)

Now that you have all the materials, this is what you nee to do:

  1. Fold the A4 paper over the long side in a zig-zag pattern
  2. Cut the toilet paper roll in 2  to make the trunk of the Christmas tree
  3. Make 2 small cuts on the side of the toilet paper roll
  4. Fold the zig-zag paper in 2 and then slide it through the cuts of the toilet paper roll.
I hope you like this paper Christmas tree. This is one of those simple Christmas crafts for kids that is ready almost as soon as you start making it :-)  I got this idea my (other) outnumbered.be blog, and if you're looking for more inspiration hop over to see what other kiddie crafts for kids that are posted there.

It actually occurred to me that this is one of those easy crafts for kids that can be also done while traveling with kids, so i'll soon added to this list of creative travel activities to do with children.
